Quick Exit

Before You Call

When you call us, you’ll be directed to leave a voicemail; this is a regular part of our process. We aren’t able to answer calls in real time, so leaving a voicemail is the best way to ensure we can follow up with you.

After you leave your initial voicemail, a member of our Client Services team will return your call within 24–48 hours of your appointment, Monday–Friday. We will identify ourselves as the Maryland Fund and may text you unless you ask us not to in your voicemail.

To make sure your call goes smoothly, here’s what you should know before you reach out to the Abortion Fund of Maryland.

First, have your appointment scheduled

Before we can confirm financial or logistical support, you’ll need to have an abortion appointment scheduled at a clinic.

  • Already have an appointment? Great — make sure to have your appointment details ready and give us a call.
  • Don’t have an appointment scheduled? No problem! We can provide a referral to a clinic in your area. Just let us know that you need support scheduling an appointment in your voicemail.

Prepare For Your Intake Call

To help us serve you quickly, it’s useful to gather some details before your intake call.

  • The date and time of your appointment
  • The name of the clinic you are scheduled at
  • Your approximate gestational age or the date of your last menstrual period
  • Whether you’re having a medication or a procedural abortion
  • The total cost of your care, and the remaining balance you need support with
  • Transportation, hotel, childcare, or other logistical help you may need
  • The best way for us to reach you quickly and safely

Timing

  • For financial help, please reach out within 7 days of your appointment.
  • For logistical help (like a ride or hotel), we need at least 48 hours’ notice to arrange support. The more notice, the better.
  • Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate same-day requests.
